1 R# W" S4 V! rEISA is a non-profit immigrant serving agency. Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries is a partnership of Settlement Agencies, School Boards, Public Libraries, Citizenship & Immigration Canada & other government levels.
, I; q% ^6 l# N* n4 H7 N+ |, C$ d
In order to better help newcomer students and their families settle in their school/community, Citizenship & Immigration Canada, Settlement Agencies and School Boards intend to establish a school and Library based outreach program called Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries (SWISL) in Edmonton, Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray. , @% j8 o4 `' x

1 t* ?7 H# X+ L$ a( {Key responsibilities: oversee the day-to-day activities/operations of the project; facilitate & support the planning & implementation of the SWISL Program; develop/deliver training and professional development for SWISL workers; develop resources for students, parents & SWISL workers.2 R; O& W! i! Z
* e( L' _9 f6 K: e  O6 V  p) C
PLUS: act as a resource and support for the SWISL project;  promote the project and facilitate training, information sharing, problem-solving and networking between SWISL stakeholders in Edmonton and Northern Alberta.& T7 S4 ^. _4 L& h% x6 p

- f1 n4 e5 I2 cKey Qualifications: Post secondary education in a related field; excellent oral & written communication skills; experience in developing resources, delivery of training, facilitating meetings; knowledge of the settlement & education sectors; experience in program coordination; demonstrated computer skills in MS Excel, Access, internet & dBase management programs; work collaboratively with a variety of partners; preferably proficient in both English & French. % T5 h4 M+ I0 W
