EISA is a non-profit immigrant serving agency. Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries is a partnership of Settlement Agencies, School Boards, Public Libraries, Citizenship & Immigration Canada & other government levels.

1 Q# O: r# o7 V8 x& n xIn order to better help newcomer students and their families settle in their school/community, Citizenship & Immigration Canada, Settlement Agencies and School Boards intend to establish a school and Library based outreach program called Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries (SWISL) in Edmonton, Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray. * M/ A7 k8 I7 n! z9 {- G y0 r

Key responsibilities: oversee the day-to-day activities/operations of the project; facilitate & support the planning & implementation of the SWISL Program; develop/deliver training and professional development for SWISL workers; develop resources for students, parents & SWISL workers.

- G5 J+ h" |* qPLUS: act as a resource and support for the SWISL project; promote the project and facilitate training, information sharing, problem-solving and networking between SWISL stakeholders in Edmonton and Northern Alberta./ o! u- q- l4 Y8 k

Key Qualifications: Post secondary education in a related field; excellent oral & written communication skills; experience in developing resources, delivery of training, facilitating meetings; knowledge of the settlement & education sectors; experience in program coordination; demonstrated computer skills in MS Excel, Access, internet & dBase management programs; work collaboratively with a variety of partners; preferably proficient in both English & French. # l$ j4 u, x6 C I9 o3 N% Y7 I
