* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis+ [% {" I6 ] u5 e+ h: E
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography. \6 c( ^2 p* R/ O* n
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques) c2 U4 O. h8 ]6 ]
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client. }# d1 ^9 v' C5 r% a
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry4 q- u9 a# c7 S) K1 u% I! J ?; B
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals

* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices

Qualifications/ v/ `& D- S4 R1 v( J
4 w) t- n. R8 I+ D0 c
* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
2 M) Q* a* E ^ * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)& f+ C# w$ O3 h3 {# A7 i, H
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
; G) f, k$ H( C- @. j& w * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures9 H- f; F* y$ n8 a0 ?
* Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment
