· how to do right and left turns legally and safely

· how to hill park (up or down)

· how to manage controlled and uncontrolled intersections

For example, if you do not show good judgment of time and distance when turning left in front of oncoming traffic, H' ?/ d1 R2 ]/ ^3 _
the test may be stopped.

Who is my Examiner?

· The Examiner will introduce him/herself and provide proof of identification, when requested.
$ z i& y" `. z4 W4 s" a- o· All Driver Examiners are licensed by Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation under the Driver Training8 L3 ^+ F, O. ?8 L J: W( m
and Driver Examination Regulation. They are monitored to ensure they provide high quality road8 O, r, y, T# S; }
tests. They should be courteous and professional, keeping conversation at all times relevant to the% I/ u$ ~7 e0 D6 u/ b* G

What do I bring for my road test?

· You must have your Learner’s licence. If you have a temporary licence (non-photo)
' G- N A8 R1 q- y" Pthen you must also provide acceptable photo ID.
& y% N8 m! j* E1 q) w· Wear clothing that is practical for driving and comfort. It should be appropriate for the
8 r3 l/ q4 A( |! r9 U+ Eweather conditions (in case your vehicle breaks down and you have to wait or walk).
* n7 v. u4 ~, R6 W# ~· Your vehicle must meet all legal requirements (good mechanical condition, valid

· Payment for the test must be made directly to the Examiner or Registry office.

assist in checking the signal and brake lights, horn, brakes, and steering. You will be asked to describe and
4 Y# i' r& o( @- ]) Gdemonstrate two of the instruments or controls inside the vehicle, such as the hazard lights and windshield
+ i7 v/ z8 O+ x- [0 @wipers. The Examiner will provide information before you move the vehicle about the route and the instructions

· Points will be assigned for errors. You will be allowed a maximum of 75 points to pass the road test.9 l+ J: S9 r, H
You must not do anything that is considered unlawful, dangerous, or unsafe, (for example, speeding or not
& b8 j2 ~* J, i! `8 R( A4 zstopping at a stop sign).
5 O, S1 [" ?4 A! P· The Examiner will not try to trick you. [: W2 r" q& H+ K* y
· The Examiner will not ask you to do anything illegal.
+ P2 v' z6 Z/ X· When the road test is finished, the Examiner will highlight the areas you performed well, as well as# E w# ^9 K+ m) ?6 Y$ _4 N4 t
the areas you need to improve upon. The points for errors will be explained at this time.( X3 k8 l7 ^: n

The Examiner will give you a copy of the Driver Examination Checklist form. You will also be given a copy of the4 J& K) J* M+ J2 i! @4 C* R# u
Test Permit. This will indicate that you have passed. Take this permit, along with your learner’s licence, to any
. L M' U1 e' A0 |8 u/ MAlberta Registry Agent to have your licence changed to a Class 5 Probationary Licence. There will be a fee for this& X' B1 t; j/ e* d
service.

What do I do if I do not pass my road test?

The Examiner will give you a copy of the Driver Examination Checklist form. This form will indicate that you have
