The Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) at the University
4 |) Z. q' [) j7 J: ] of Alberta will be holding a Spring Festival Evening Party around the
' |% q6 Y6 B+ x+ H) r& V! _ eve of Chinese lunar New Year to add the diverse community Chinese9 ^$ ^) Y' {3 R
cultural activities. This event is not only a reminder of food, fun and
' E7 A; q8 O1 v) I% o1 @ customs, but also a very good opportunity to wipe out our homesickness on
% C+ W1 C: M3 x, t- D this broad land.
' g0 W, b9 X1 x3 m7 d* }; B 9 U& ^* w4 o. n4 Q( n: _
We encourage students and scholars who are interested in performance to# H8 u% [# k: J" Z" X* ~- b
contribute to the evening party by showcasing your abilities and9 A6 W* \5 A' ^) X6 Q, g
talents. Although we have no luxurious dressings and professional skills in
) S0 @( _) ~, V3 U, f8 n performing arts, the most critical point we have is our passion to show
0 Q( O+ B1 g; x1 T ourselves such as any topic related to our life and studies in% q8 A, J1 G9 c5 Q9 _- O
Edmonton. Please come and join us to fill up the party. It’s going to be a: R2 i0 H# V5 B8 ]1 }$ e+ T" x
lot of fun, like what we did before.* [; `7 H% ~* s+ f0 M7 N, v

As far as your prospective programs are concerned, they can be songs
/ J+ _8 S' l" B& h& o8 c0 v, |. I8 d# ? sung by a single singer or multiple singers, song and dance (Ge Wu),
" D2 E8 |) s2 ^9 `. t4 P, G stand-up comedy (Xiang Sheng), skits (Xiao Pin), drama (Hua Ju) or any
& A$ H" V6 |$ ~ ^/ C5 `& x& |* U performance with instruments (e.g., piano). It would be great if your' j0 u" a+ E. U7 O' S6 a5 L* Y
program could reflect our society. If you have a play for skits, stand-up
; x& ?. T$ Y! \1 k9 w. x comedy or drama to present, please contact CSSA for performance since
7 O) y) H+ e) G' }# P; G1 n CSSA executives want to have a show collectively.% o6 O& x: W1 L, l
* h5 R3 d; m( ]# B( P3 L( g9 m5 H/ c# H
Meanwhile, a host is needed for the evening party. Volunteers are also4 P$ k5 ~; ?0 g8 z f# J" B" P$ T
on demand to work on the stage to assist lighting and audio system. x. w' \5 z+ m h3 d% ~
