J* l6 q, jPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community9 i0 D( j, P8 I. P
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
; H# O& C6 U: E) c& c% s7 A- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
% ]' q' O* b; h. J( b- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
1 ]* L" y5 n1 \3 V- coordinate good will activities
. o8 H$ i% l& n6 H$ ]8 {- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre+ T8 \9 d& V7 i0 Y' Y
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

! T& A8 b2 k9 `. G& v# s- write quarterly and final reports for ISP0 i: q( w) K$ ^+ \- h a
- explore new ideas for ISP

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time+ ]/ V5 L: v: P; o9 w9 z& p* e
- update membership database

Qualifications" [$ @$ \; V4 q. i" ~- m+ f
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
3 P8 ^; p( V( d, k8 M' l- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
/ U. n) F8 [! i. ^- experience in community work and immigrant services
. x1 ~% Z( w$ X. z7 m- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars6 y, u" R! o# k7 r
