Position title: Community Development Worker

* `2 X3 ?- Q( M% [" g) ~0 d4 hPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. & b! A# H- W6 R( a- ^5 o

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community' c# ?4 y/ w7 W% l* ]( `
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services- s) P! Y) j5 V% R$ {5 Z( b: b
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services/ i; |9 L# @3 U% \$ D* M! M; ^- l
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

$ s+ g2 L* m# L- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- write quarterly and final reports for ISP( r% s3 S l! ] [( |

- hold regular meetings with ISP team1 s" i3 \- B: v8 ]" b% d9 U
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time% X: I3 e9 O# I
- update membership database

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education * g2 p5 h& ]" Y, c

- experience in community work and immigrant services$ a. @9 ~7 h0 ^& _
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars6 M) t* _7 l" c. r6 S. [
- leadership skills
