F7 `& a; {* e1 _& K$ }8 i; VPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. 1 q$ c0 c. A) V: ^- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
+ J6 D6 [4 Q6 h+ b' F3 P+ O* A- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
4 a7 l' q X0 \. G$ `- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
O! P4 `8 f7 {2 t* m8 ~- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies: ^9 _! a( G6 Z: y( b
- coordinate good will activities i3 N: Y) e6 C1 B# P& r& Y# a
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- prepare and send AGM information to members3 ? Q, I$ s7 J" f
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- explore new ideas for ISP

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education

8 S, V Y9 l7 r3 N. z- experience in community work and immigrant services
8 n( Q7 P+ e6 E- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars

- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
