3 d" C6 k9 E9 R4 \# p9 bPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. , s8 A' r4 j, n8 E7 m" `6 Z- D

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community4 n- w- ]' w$ c
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
8 v% [' |& Q# P$ f% h* A3 Q- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
& Y' h4 S9 Z. |; ~$ s- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
5 U7 R" R& v' ?% V2 q: H. S5 u- coordinate good will activities: i! y# m7 g$ }. U% x- q% b
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

4 m& m/ d9 ], K! Y; D8 Q7 l Y- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.6 e0 o: Q# b3 k0 ~# R
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- assist in writing proposal for ISP+ M7 Y$ {% N* I# v
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- update membership database

( K+ r5 L5 r8 R( b/ v, l3 S% W- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education ; X5 L; s1 v/ g! z8 d
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills4 }5 u$ Y0 |( ~3 }, S0 ~
- experience in community work and immigrant services

- leadership skills
