" t1 N; B+ [( Z/ H3 R/ wPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. ! b. B' V7 m! C, B" _

- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services4 e/ a& o5 _2 W7 P4 C
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services

- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members! ]% ^- y8 w3 i, h; R
- submit information for community news

- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities7 P$ w; G& ^- {
- update ASSIST website, q4 [- q. O3 j( K$ ]& W
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- assist in writing proposal for ISP

- explore new ideas for ISP . k* `6 \2 @& L8 e
- hold regular meetings with ISP team* o5 S9 u% B5 z. @* h4 L
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
& S) t2 A/ M( q/ } ^& `: y* |9 O% N- update membership database

Qualifications
! W. Z) X* n! h+ H2 t$ ?2 @% {# \- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
9 v& B5 \, C$ n% m5 v- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
& B5 a+ F- f- p; p- experience in community work and immigrant services
( s4 @# c/ w3 w; y0 S8 ^- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars: ^0 c9 T% m8 u9 G6 j& |
