Key Responsibilities7 X) V/ e) z9 [) W' z: `
- submit information for community news 5 l/ _ C( \* k
- provide volunteers to update membership database
0 P$ A! T: L4 _* O/ k3 g- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
2 L! e8 r% @+ N3 H: Z3 N- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
1 U$ T3 i" e' y/ Y( D- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties3 C# x" m& y& ?1 J# L
- provide volunteers for various programs
' L2 d. O5 P5 P8 I: E5 g- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
+ m7 z3 |; P) A4 ^5 M% K- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
* h+ t% d) l& ?. A- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities) C3 E9 I# p( D) P
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services! c% R a. \6 q" r; V
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
1 @5 f' C5 J+ k$ d, r5 \- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
# ^/ i# L- r/ M; L2 C3 s; Q- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
! H2 u; @7 f! `! c/ e4 ^- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required); E" P/ y4 I' G8 o
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
7 O: Q' \6 [4 c9 p- j+ F& }- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 9 p" E' Z' E2 ^* Y$ b3 t: F
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
$ Y u9 A" W1 L9 w' v: g, z G- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers - Y, s: J# T$ T
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre6 M# U. P1 a* f* L! P3 [
0 n* D% j \7 |6 TQualifications; i8 H0 f, T; X& s! D3 Z. @
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
8 R/ V0 R7 U$ W9 m2 [- good oral and written Chinese and English skills ]5 [9 U4 K. W4 C% `
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services8 y! a, L9 { G% U/ y4 Q
- leadership skills5 R9 x$ v+ @- _6 @6 g
- management and supervision skills
