Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news ! [/ r9 U# K! J% E0 ~$ g0 ~
- provide volunteers to update membership database! Q: @% L1 c R( H( t% O
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers, _% N% I, V/ p
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties. q9 s9 j; K1 y
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
' b) @, W9 Q1 f) u3 [- provide volunteers for various programs @1 R5 T6 A# _& _! X
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual+ Y, ]/ Q9 o% v" j6 ]& [* ?
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
# z/ U+ O0 f6 Z$ p9 B- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities' h" b& f. s& n" L
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
/ b! `" M j/ P! [! Z- c- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
4 }1 y: d& |* g% ^ E( E" w- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
2 V! U4 W5 T' G* o! Q# k1 [$ e- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed

- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events : d1 g& ~6 _+ H; |' a
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
( L* G! E4 B8 Q9 y ^- h) D- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
2 E) K3 j, l+ Y2 v) X# ]7 q' x1 F- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
! n4 g) \" V; e- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 2 y# X' n2 w# Q+ X0 H

- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
/ \, L) W, A U% Z( b- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
( G% q7 l2 ~( X( [- leadership skills
