Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

P8 r8 C( i) w2 J: @Key Responsibilities
: ^. f3 H ]4 l m- submit information for community news ) V/ P: {, |* ]. a3 ~0 z, n
- provide volunteers to update membership database1 i! @+ f$ R+ i7 c* j3 G
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
+ P/ C3 j( x7 p3 s- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
2 U: l, X' v1 Q/ {: L- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
' Q6 L7 ]7 `' B- provide volunteers for various programs
5 z2 u* D# S6 c- b S( Q- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual' z" [' ]' x% s' [* L
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation$ Q9 W2 m$ O0 f1 n
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities+ g4 m& J; \+ V( d' q9 f! r% t
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
" h2 m5 f' i" x- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
8 C/ w: S9 X q+ r& j- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed; u7 h/ U% z# Z5 J( u5 ?
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
[- J1 S3 ]) k3 Z- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
- i7 [2 L) \: K! Y2 W8 o- W- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
8 U2 q! A+ Q* i- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
4 S* y, w: |+ H( c$ N9 ~7 d- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers & `2 B5 T! x5 w. o- B) U9 a
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
9 |. G; Z" j" J- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
2 }3 j! i2 Y' }% b6 e- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
/ T; C7 j) S) Q# ~0 Y" K7 [- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services" X3 C; d/ Q' M$ k* ?
- leadership skills
