Key Responsibilities
: e& z. @/ T* a- submit information for community news
6 e8 B1 n$ `4 e- provide volunteers to update membership database
( J0 u! ?4 V: S0 ]- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
$ S& ]& O. R5 m5 D) c- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
6 M+ N1 @- l8 O+ T- d0 J, y- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
) Y& @& q8 {; k/ R- provide volunteers for various programs
7 |, `) T9 z+ K2 N4 G! J' }- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual2 z/ K% ]/ ]8 L
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation2 g1 I0 l6 o$ S |2 d% s0 o
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
! c1 s" }# R! I1 X! }) \% D- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services) k J- n+ w9 q/ z" {$ _1 v( {/ V& t& ]. P" y
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
0 s2 U) h, X7 _- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
& o5 b# ^) v$ V- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed& g/ D4 i6 B6 n2 b
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)2 O/ ?( e. }2 L! S- S# e
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events

- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
! W) C# s' C8 b' [/ ~) s1 G6 y- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
+ D c# `8 e5 y* }* s- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 5 H Y0 x/ A5 C: _: y
- evaluations
# X& @+ C, L9 ~ k$ x" F- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre( z. k% g, b u

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
9 S6 u& R' P" S% E! @* A- good oral and written Chinese and English skills" T6 m: W8 l* i3 t. `7 [
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
5 Q8 ]/ V- ?4 d* b0 Q ?- leadership skills
% R% f6 G0 s$ L0 u+ q- management and supervision skills% ~* `& \5 z2 f1 K' M
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
