CALGARY — Screams filled the air after a 17-year-old teen was killed after being struck in the head with a pickaxe at a house party.

* I9 Z- h* b% Q2 nNeighbours said about 100 teens were at a house in southeast Calgary when the attack happened in a detached garage about 11:50 p.m. Saturday. / ^* U& U% ~, I* @' F8 I

Lisa Poole, who lives two doors down from where the teen died, rushed outside when she heard a lot of screaming. + I* G- ?% p. ~

Chris Briggs, who grew up in the same neighbourhood and was friends with McKay, described him as nice guy and avid athlete.
