About background check

My case:

2 V+ o$ ^  Q; N9 y! A6 LI sent an email to CIC buffalo yesterday inquiring about my case and got the reply:

# f# w3 S# R) Z6 u9 c2 t0 A7 ]"We have requested background information from other government
offices(s).  Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing
& J0 q! \, o4 X$ e6 Kof your application will be complete.  We cannot respond to requests for
the status of your application before this information is received."
, B( L4 x, I0 P
Does this mean I am undergoing background check? Is it a normal BC and security background check(SBC)? Anybody has idea about how long it is gonna take? Thank you!

听说凡是粘军工边的都要被做背景调查.

不用太担心，他们的回复都是同一格式，不代表一定在作背景调查。我也收到过这样的回复，后来request了一个CAIPS NOTES，发现是不知为什么我老婆得Medical Examinaion的结果他们一直没收到。现在我们就要landing了。你也可以request一个CAIPS NOTES，看看到底是怎么回事。

不一定就是背景调查，　也可能是查再加拿大有无犯罪记录什么的，不用担心。
