2. Marketing and Promotion# W a' E$ u6 K

a. To develop and implement a marketing plan for the venues that 6 T0 f+ F J; f; t, M: E
focuses upon advertising and promoting the venue to faculty,
. r5 e) v; Y3 B- f2 hstudents, and internal and external clients on an on-going basis.
# G5 I4 e/ v& G+ Z4 l' k; W1 _2 wThis strategy will include implementing and/or delegating the following:
& A$ ~! Z( B: O. d· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz
5 c! i0 P2 B# GTheatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to ! L Y. s" X. Z8 N: Y+ P% S
take advantage of other internal and external advertising
3 p2 f+ K; N& xopportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional

· To coordinate tours of the venues for potential renters.

use of the Horowitz Theatre Home Page and the SU Events Calendar.

1 x- `! w/ f d7 ~2 A. La. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost-
) z* J3 g( G; _effectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the 9 u" G& O1 M7 K$ ~: h) v
venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and 2 M' Y! `4 L) Y+ p- b" Y
contribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of
2 G6 m" o$ m' D, k5 Ythe renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited
5 k o8 l' \$ V4 [3 @2 o* lto, the following:
% m! Y- x6 ^+ a1 u5 w$ o( p% C7 }· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues
3 ?( o$ `9 y7 L. zand Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining,
1 V# {! Q1 {6 z: y- p9 q6 Q" C7 Jevaluating and terminating, as necessary.
1 `9 i$ v% j% A. P To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at
( v; C/ q4 ^( Y1 D4 K. y+ Nall times, this includes the development and implementation of such 2 P# P! P# m: y) i+ D9 g
schedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and ! o) p$ \* U5 k& Y
cost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it
; H; l& H: L' n# {. his in operation or needs to be in operation.
8 o5 c3 M0 W, Z' t) q' D· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure
& ^* w! Q; d+ }( k+ qthat an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to 4 w" Z/ o2 [9 A5 B% i
facilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all
" z1 C) o- k3 X' @renters needs are met.1 C* j* A9 Y$ z+ k; _: V, g
· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills
- E) o. F( q$ X& q0 e1 Kand attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of 6 C( f- X6 ^: a5 Y1 n$ Y0 @
the roles they must perform. This includes providing adequate and " r; A' P& V& m, O
effective training (and re-training) in all applicable and 8 `) e8 X! b; [7 p
appropriate areas, and ensuring that the Policy and Procedures manual # E8 J; m$ q" [4 v9 U1 d. X! h
is kep up-to-date at all times.6 ^' K* n7 d8 b* @4 I
· To ensure all staff are trained in and committed to providing

· To work with the Technical Director to arrange staff

and direction of the Manager of Venues and Programming, concerning

· Working with the Manager of Facilities and Operations to ensure

4. Overall Financial Performance

systems and processes utilized by or within the venues meet the - N$ T5 |8 f( E' q6 Q
appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and contribute in a , G9 E# c V$ ?; P2 g
positive way to the smooth operation and success of the venues. This 9 r& m# y' i8 q* b- p2 E
includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:

operating budgets covering the venues to the SU´s Manager of ) ^, L. E @. ]% ?% |. x; R% x

Manager of Programming and Venues, and Manager of Finance &

· To manage the venues in a manner which adequately and effectively

other reports as may be necessary.

with all financial and administrative procedures, with the SU´s

aimed at improving the financial and/or functional effectiveness of % }) ~' d" A# f8 k
the Horowitz Theatre.
6 x# k9 n. j8 f9 V( P1 T· To ensure the existence of adequate, effective and accurate job
) N' M1 K- n/ o% u: b) R9 L+ f% M) ycosting systems to be used in connection with the determination and ) j+ c. l/ O" w1 c- `
setting of appropriate prices for rental and staffing rates for $ o* o; `4 h. Y! Y8 C
events held in the Horowitz Theatre.: R7 }( s( h% K; j2 J4 W
· To develop accurate documentation to be used in connection with , [4 F# e. C& a B& n
the billing clients, and to forward such documentation in a timely + y6 O S2 r; \- ]- I4 [8 N

· To recognize, address and handle all matters relating to financial

the requirements of the SU´s Manager of Programming and Venues and

contributes positively to the smooth operation and success of the

renting the venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and + i% F! X; H H+ r
needs, and contribute to the smooth operation and success of the

may be necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the venues, this

pricing, costing, equipment usage, rental/contract invoicing, % }5 p/ u' u U2 ]; ]5 ^
together with such other systems and procedures as may be necessary
9 Y2 }1 N$ D9 L- n2 f( z$ qto ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and 2 o5 J$ |) r* h( W
functionally-effective operation of the Horowitz Theatre.
" L9 F2 D. A* }6 P/ {· To recognize, develop and set in place such operational procedures % ^) b# f1 H" F8 @! e' ? O. g4 S7 L
as may be necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost- R4 b/ @- O0 J3 `- z* p
effective operation of the venues.
$ }6 c1 z3 \! I3 }* d9 t& I7 |· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to ! t2 r2 F7 d+ ]& ^& {/ [
dates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges.+ v0 O0 I3 N' o) W
· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and
% g! d2 W. n& j, e y W1 W1 G2 ~that such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways. j( _4 D; n# q
· To consult with renters as to facility issues in producing their r- f6 T! W8 a: n7 W, r
particular event in the venues. x5 y( W; J8 C) Q. y
· To provide the venues on-site staff with such documentation and
/ j! v' |6 j7 t( |supporting information as it may need to effectively fulfill the
4 f2 ~! Y( Q0 m2 m) ?1 i# croles they are to perform to ensure the success of the renter´s event.
, R1 T; \- {8 m8 T3 d8 v" H· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular ( ?. N+ W2 V o3 M. z+ H
rental with consultation with the Technical Director.
N) c3 d5 I* H o u& |· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the 4 c4 i$ B0 v4 C. }" T
SU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately # [2 p. V. V( c3 D/ ^
answered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in 2 h/ {& p0 d5 l# q
follow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.3 r( \3 w( J* T% { {
To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately, 4 y! s8 d$ O9 Z/ q
effectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that $ h* z$ {+ J$ K3 S
the cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision
) O/ }' |* F- Q |made for them unless prior approval is given by the Manager of
$ D0 T* [2 p) U2 A0 hProgramming and Venues.* R/ `( G' L" |% ]
· To act as an informed and knowledgeable resource in the case of
3 s& E. ?9 v# Osignificant challenges and/or problems surrounding the tasks of : e0 x# y2 L7 w# |6 g9 H% r3 J
marketing, administration, operations, and any such other matters as
( m0 M" {% M# Amay provide such challenges and/or problems.
